About

I work as a software engineer doing DevOps and cloud orchestration, but I studied both computer science and economics.  At work I’m mostly steeped in automation tools like Chef and shell scripting. I’ve previously done a range of things from mobile development to middleware deployments.

Outside of work I like talking about Bitcoin, blockchains, and crypto. I’m also a libertarian activist and I’ve run both Ron Paul’s and Gary Johnson’s campaigns on my college campus, as well as worked extensively with Young Americans for Liberty. I discuss various topics on my blog, whether they be policy, technology, science, or sports. While I was originally born in the year 2345, a mishap with a time vortex landed me here. Unfortunately extradition paperwork for pre-2200 dates is a nightmare so I’ll be around a while!  Check me out on Twitter @mjelgart.
